About Me:

Hi – please help out two of the most important teachers of our time… please go to
http://www.spiritrock.org/display.asp?pageid=566&catid=13 for information on how you can help Stephen and Ondrea Levine, spiritual teachers and soul companions to those in pain, dying, and grieving for the past 30 years!!!!  Please help the merit that they have shared with the world come back to them a thousand fold!

Hi, Welcome to my Zaadz site.  My Pods are Conscious Living/Conscious Grieving/Conscious Dying, and Holding the Container.  You are more than welcome to all that I have to offer here. And more importantly, what others in the pod have to share.  I honor the pods as sacred space for us to share our stories and “be” together.  I hope you will inter-be with us.

I am a grief counselor, death educator, coach, seeker, philosopher, and reiki master.  I have work for a hospice for the past 7 years and am venturing out into other avenues….   I am a  PhD student at Saybrook Graduate School (http://www.saybrook.edu/) and am studying Clinicial Psychology with an emphasis on Humanistic & Transpersonal Psychology and Integrative Health Studies with some pretty fabuolous professors and cohort members… Don't know Saybrook.. we have some pretty impressive alumni… we were founded by Rolo May and the Humanistic Pioneers of Psychology and we have professors from around the world who honor us at our school - Jeanne Achterberg and her work on imagery, Donald Rothberg and socially engaged spirituality, Kirk Schneider and Existential Psychology, Stanley Krippner and consciousness, and a number of teachers at Spirit Rock have been a part of our tradition.

I love learning, teaching, being with others, learning (did I say that?), and working with groups of people.  I am all of a sudden doing a lot of work in collaboration with others and it is life changing.  I have just included a list of great books on dying and grief on my blog.  Well, I'm going to start a list.

My passion for life is opening dialogue up about dying and grieving which to me are just another way to say life.  I believe in the great learning that each brings us, if we know how to use these opportunities to delve deep within ourselves, mindfully embrace life, and every day choose to re-create living our lives.

My work is that of education and counseling in grief and dying.  I believe that those are physical, psychological, and spiritual journeys.  My biggest goal in life is to companion those who want to consciously walk those journeys.  Today, I am seeking new ways to reach these people, to turn my passion into sustainable work that brings me joy and helps lessen suffering in the world.

For those who are interested in professional information about dying and grieving, I have a weblog at http://growthhouse.typepad.com/jennifer_stevens.  This whole site is about different aspects of end of life care and I was asked to be a writer for them.  Even if you are not a professional, I have written a few articles that are helpful to pass on to those who are grieving or those who love someone who is grieving.

I am also just starting to work with a team of people to get my own website up and running.  My company is Namaste Consulting, Inc., http://www.namasteconsultinginc.com/ and I focus on death education, grief counseling, workshop and group facilitation, wellness & spirituality counseling, and meditation instruction.  I am available to travel for retreats and workshops.   I will post the website when it gets up and running.  My email address to inquire about workshops is mindfullyexisting@namasteconsultinginc.com">mindfullyexisting@namasteconsultinginc.com.   Until then, welcome to my little world on gaia community and please make yourself at home and feel free to join in the conversations.

I am very interested in working with others to collaborate on workshops and retreats focusing on change, transformating our worlds, and shaping our future, while being focused in the here and now.  If you have ideas, I would love to hear from you.

Namaste and Metta,
Jennifer
